The programme site sits at Affumkrom, a host community near Nsawam in the Eastern Region, just beyond the edge of the Greater Accra conurbation from which most of the waste is drawn. It is close to the trunk road network and to the region it serves.

04.1 Location and 60 km catchment, shown schematically. Exact coordinates are withheld.
Affumkrom is close enough to Greater Accra to gather its waste efficiently, and far enough to keep heavy movements clear of the busiest urban roads. The site draws on the N6 trunk corridor and connects onward to the region's ports and airport for equipment and product logistics.
The wider catchment, in the order of a 60 kilometre radius, takes in the assemblies of Greater Accra and its neighbours in the Eastern and Central regions. It holds far more capturable waste than the programme requires, which gives the feedstock plan real headroom.
The land is held under a long lease agreed with the traditional authority and endorsed through the customary hierarchy, following the constitutional pathway for stool land. Registration and the associated formalities are progressing in the proper order.
Because the arrangement runs through the customary framework, the host community shares in the programme's success by design. Precise particulars of the land are handled directly with the parties concerned.
