Ghana’s Integrated Waste-to-Fuel Value Chain

Hamtracom Ltd is developing Ghana’s first integrated municipal solid waste-to-fuels infrastructure. The system begins with structured MSW collection across eligible assemblies within a 60 kilometre catchment of Akraman, anchored on the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area, transitions through high-throughput transfer sites designed for rapid cross-docking, and ends at an RD100 and SAF refinery at Akraman in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality, with direct access to the N6 highway and the wider Greater Accra catchment.

• Ring-fenced feedstock contracts with GAMA assemblies and licensed private haulers, with put-or-pay enforcement and a contracted 1,500 t/day target designed to secure the 1,200 t/day gate requirement
• Two final products, RD100 Renewable Diesel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel, targeting international EN 15940, ASTM D975 and ASTM D7566 specifications, with byproducts including biochar, renewable naphtha and recovered metals
• IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles compliance built into every stage of design, permitting, and future operations
• Scalable platform with the Akraman site designed to be replicated across other strategic N-road corridors in Ghana
